We’re Going to Die
Like so many of us here on Tumblr and the internets at large, I’m saddened by the passing of Steve Jobs. One of my first computers was an Apple //c. I switched from a PC to a Mac back in 2003. I started asking, “Do you use Macs?” in job interviews a few years back because I didn’t want to work on crappy Dell machines.
All that to say, we’re going to die and we don’t know when.
In the past year I’ve travelled through almost 20 states, met so many amazing people and had so many good times. I got faux-arrested in Atlanta, rode through New Orleans, caught a glimpse of the BMX dream world in Austin TX, fell in love with Louisville KY, finally got to FL, was smitten by Charleston SC, ate at a Waffle House in Savannah GA and met some rad dudes, spent an epic day in Boston, MA and stayed with friends in Maine who had goats and chickens. I also spent huge amounts of time riding buses, trains and riding over hills and mountains.
That was one year.
Maybe you can’t travel for a year like I did, or even a weekend. Just take a day or SIX HOURS, and do something you’ve always wanted.
Steve Jobs created the Apple computer with his buddies in a garage without the internet. You and I have iPhones, YouTube, email and a GAJILLION other things in our lives. Don’t waste all those amazing technologies on “I’m bored” status updates.
