orphanedanythings asked: Greetings Bike Nerd! How're your travels doing? Well, I just wanted to wish you the best and I was wondering what you would recommend bike wise for college campuses? Thank you in advance!

When I was in the 2nd grade there was one other Seth in our elementry school. He was then Seth R., and I became Seth W. In 1998 I started a one-man-band named Seth W. I played the drums with my feet, the bass with my hands, and sang at the same time. In 2010 I started the Bike Nerd. Now I’m selling my bike. It’s 2011. New blog. Please give a follow if you can.

I look forward to rides in the mountains, without car exaust. I want to ride around lakes, without being on a bike lane filled with roller bladers. I want to ride up hills with no Starbucks at the top. I want to blast through puddles that don’t have drains. I want to ride over roots and branches. I want to get muddy again. Yes, I know just a few short weeks ago I was Mr. Bike, but...

Been working a lot. Trying to pay down debt and increase my savings. Trying to get light weight again, possibly for future travels. I’m tired. So tired.

Going to attempt my first bi-modal commute tomorrow to work. Ride 2.5 miles to the train, which will then take me the rest of the way. Why? ‘Cuz I’m tired and not feeling up for a 12 mile bike ride in the morning.

We're Going to Die
Like so many of us here on Tumblr and the internets at large, I’m saddened by the passing of Steve Jobs. One of my first computers was an Apple //c. I switched from a PC to a Mac back in 2003. I started asking, “Do you use Macs?” in job interviews a few years back because I didn’t want to work on crappy Dell machines. All that to say, we’re going to die and we...

OUCH
A week ago today I set off on the NYC Century, a big group ride all around the city. I rode the 55 mile route with some friends, and ended up doing 70 miles total for the day. The next day I woke up abruptly from pain in my right hand. It felt asleep, but it wasn’t waking up. A week later, it’s still happening. It hardly happens during the day, so I’m able to work and such,...
